Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner is the husband of the respondent no.4 and the father of the respondent no.5. The private respondents are colluding amongst themselves to grab the property of the petitioner. They are harassing and intimidating the petitioner so that he would leave the property. Complaints were made before the police, but no steps were taken.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State relies on the report and submits as follows. Earlier, the petitioner's wife had started a police case under Sections 498A and 328 of the Penal Code. This has ended in a charge sheet dated 30.11.2023 under Section 498A of the Penal Code. On the

basis of the petitioner's complaint, Madhyamgram P.S. Case No.157 dated 16.03.2024 was registered under Sections 341, 323, 406 and 34 of the Penal Code and Section 24 of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007. The same is being investigated.

It appears that the police have acted on complaints from both sides.

Therefore, no further order need be passed in this regard.

However, the police authorities shall keep a sharp vigil at the locale and ensure that no breach of peace takes place. With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order may be supplied to the parties expeditiously, if applied for. (Jay Sengupta, J.)
