It has been submitted that the terminal benefits of the deceased employee has been disbursed and credited in the bank account of the petitioner.

It is a matter of shame that high ranking officers were directed to personally remain present in Court

today only for the purpose of disbursal of terminal benefit of a deceased employee which remained pending from the year 2013.

The amount due is approximately 2,50,000/- and odd. It took nearly ten years for the employer to disburse the said amount.

As the petitioner was due to receive the money nearly ten years back but received the same only after the high ranking officers of the State were directed to personally remain present in Court, accordingly, the petitioner shall be entitled to receive interest on account of such delayed payment of terminal dues.

Interest @ 7% per annum shall be payable to the petitioner calculated on and from the due date till the date of actual payment. The interest amount shall be paid to the petitioner at the earliest but positively within a period of three weeks from the date of communication of a copy of this order.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

Personal appearance of the abovementioned officials is dispensed with.

Liberty granted to the petitioner to file fresh proceeding in the event the petitioner is aggrieved by any further act of the respondents.
