Heard the learned Counsels appearing on behalf of the parties.

Statement of the victim and other materials disclose that the petitioner had ravished a ten year old girl. In view of the gravity of the offence, we are not inclined in granting bail to the petitioner.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.

We direct the trial court to expedite the trial and conclude the same at an early date without granting unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.
