The writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon the Commissioner, Panchayats and Rural Development Department, Government of West Bengal to dispose of the representation of the petitioner seeking transfer to any location closer to his residence at village-Khargram. It is the contention of the petitioner that at present the petitioner is serving at a distance of 350 kms. from his residence under Banashyam Nagar Gram Panchayat. The petitioner relies on the document which is Annexure-P/6 at Page 28 of the writ petition. By the said letter, the Block Development Officer, Pathar Pratima Development Block had recommended inter district transfer of the petitioner. Reliance has also been placed on certain notifications issued by the department dated September 5, 2022 and March 2, 2012, permitting such transfer.

The decision shall be arrived at within a period of four weeks from the date of communication of this order. Such

decision shall be communicated to the petitioner as it appears that the prayer of the petitioner for inter district transfer has been pending since 2017 or before.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. However, there will be no order as to costs.

All the parties are directed to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
