Kutubuddin ...for the Petitioner Mr. Amitabh Shukla ...for WBSEDCL It is submitted by the learned advocate appearing on 24-04-2025 AKG Ct. 15 behalf of the petitioner that the petitioner has already deposited the quotation amount raised by the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL) for the purpose of effecting an electricity connection to his submersible pump set on March 6, 2025. However, the connection has not yet been provided.

The learned advocate appearing for WBSEDCL submits that, in order to provide the electricity connection, it is necessary to erect five poles, string 231 meters of Low Tension Overhead Line, and augment a 63 KVA transformer. It is further submitted that, since the land in question is being used for agricultural purposes, the connection may be effected within 180 days from the date of compliance by the consumer, as mandated by the West Bengal Electricity Regulatory Commission.

In view of the above, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon WBSEDCL to effect the electricity connection at the earliest, preferably within a period of three months from the date of communication of this order, so

that the petitioner may avail the benefits of the upcoming monsoon season for his agricultural activities. Accordingly, WPA 7438 of 2025 is disposed of. Urgent certified website copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
