The petitioners filed an application before the District Magistrate praying for compensation in lieu of land acquired by the State respondents.

Learned counsel for the State respondents submits that the application should be filed before the Special Land Acquisition Officer as it is within his jurisdiction to deal with the said issue.

Accordingly, I dispose of the writ petition with opportunity to the petitioners to file such application before the respondent No.3 within two weeks from date. I direct the respondent No.3 to consider and dispose of the application within two months from the date of receipt of the application after affording opportunity of hearing to all the affected parties including the petitioners, in accordance with law.

WPA 8423 of 2021 is disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.

As affidavits have not been invited, the allegations made in this writ petition are deemed not to be admitted. Urgent certified website copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
