Mr. Sayan Datta ... for the State-respondent(s) The petitioner is aggrieved by the fact that in spite of the offence being committed at the midnight in respect of theft of jewelleries and cash, the police authorities submitted Final Report on or about 15.1.2023 expressing their inability to trace out the accused.

Although, the report submitted by the State reflects that three accused persons were arrested in the case.

Datta, learned advocate, appears on behalf of the State and submits a report prepared by the Inspector of Police, Dum Dum Police Station, wherein, it reflects that the learned

Magistrate was pleased to allow the prayer for further investigation of the petitioner and the case has been presently endorsed to one Prasanta Kr. Das, SI of Police associated with Dum Dum Police Station for conducting further investigation. The petitioner is expressing his frustration as the investigation is continuing since the year 2022.

Having considered the submissions advanced by the parties, I direct that the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Dum Dum Police Station will monitor the investigation of the case so that efforts are exerted for unearth the truth.

It is further directed that within a reasonable period of time, a logical conclusion must be arrived at.

The investigation officer of the case, as such, would on every 15 days report to the Assistant Commissioner of Police, who would be monitoring the investigation of

the case.

With the aforesaid observations, WPA 7387 of 2025 is disposed of.

Pending application(s), if any, is also disposed of.

Report so submitted be kept with the record.
