1. The petitioner was granted bail on certain terms and conditions. An application was filed by the defacto complainant for cancellation of such bail. Such application was not allowed. However, the petitioner was directed to meet the Officer-in-Charge, Asansol (North) Police Station once in a week until further orders. This direction was passed on December 05, 2022.

2. The petitioner now seeks relaxation of that condition. He says that he had been scrupulously adhering to that condition till April, 2024, when, due to some misunderstanding, he stopped reporting to the Officer-inCharge of the said police station. However, once a coordinate Signed By :

Bench recorded the order dated September 30, 2024, the petitioner has resumed reporting to the said Police Officer.

3. Learned State advocate says that it is correct that after September 30, 2024, the petitioner has again started reporting to the said Police Officer on a weekly basis.

4. We find that the trial has not progressed much. It may take a long time for the trial to conclude. Given that the petitioner has shown his bonafides by generally adhering to the conditions of bail and there is as such no adverse report about his demeanor, we are inclined to allow the petitioner's prayer.

5. Accordingly, the petitioner need not report to the Officer-in-Charge of Asansol (North) Police Station any further. However, if and when called for by the police authorities, he must respond to the same immediately. The other conditions of bail shall remain the same.

6. The application being CRAN 1 of 2024 is disposed of.

7. All parties shall act on the server copies of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

8. Criminal Section is directed to supply certified copies of this order to the parties, if applied for, upon compliance of all necessary formalities.
