...... petitioners Ms. Minoti Gomes ....for the petitioners Ms. Zareen N. Khan, Mr. Ashok Das ....for the State A neighbour recorded a statement under Section 161 of the Criminal Procedure Code claiming that the petitioners were involved in the demand of dowry and on assault on the de facto complainant.

According to such neighbour, the assault was on the abdomen of the de facto complainant.

There are medical documents suggesting that de facto complainant underwent abortion due to assault. In such circumstances, considering the gravity of the offence and involvement of the petitioners in the incident, we are unable to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners. CRM (A) 1312 of 2023 is rejected.
