And In the matter of : Humayan Kabir ...... petitioner Mr. Jayanta Narayan Chatterjee, Ms. Jayashree Patra, Ms. Sreeparna Ghosh, Ms. Ritushree Banerjee, Ms. Pritha Sinha ....for the petitioner Mr. Madhusudan Sur, ld. A.P.P.

Mr. Arabinda Manna ....for the State Victim recorded her statement under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code implicating the petitioner. The claim of assault made in the statement recorded under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code, stands corroborated from the medical report of the victim. The claim of the victim is that she was abducted for ransom. The petitioner was involved.

In such circumstances, considering the gravity of the offence and involvement of the petitioner in the incident, we are unable to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. CRM (A) 1317 of 2023 is rejected.
