Statements of witnesses and seizure memo disclose recovery of narcotic substance i.e. 10 ltrs. of codeine mixture, which is above commercial quantity from the possession of the petitioners.

Under such circumstances and in view of the statutory restrictions under Section 37 of the NDPS Act, we are not inclined in granting bail to the petitioners.

The application for bail is thus rejected.

However, in view of the protracted period of detention suffered by the petitioners, we direct the trial court to conclude the trial at an early date preferably within one year from the next date fixed for recording of evidence without granting unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.
