The petitioners initiated a no confidence motion against the 10th respondent before the Block Development Officer being the prescribed authority and sought a direction upon the said authority to deal with the same in terms of Section 12 of the West Bengal Panchayat Act.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that during the pendency of the writ petition, the no confidence motion has been cancelled by the Block Development Officer. In view of the above, the writ petition has become redundant and accordingly disposed of.

However, the petitioners are at liberty to assail the order passed by the Block Development Officer in accordance with law, if so advised.
