Petitioner approached this Court being aggrieved by the progress of English Bazar PS Case No.

467/2024 dated 09.04.2024 which was registered for investigation under section 406, 409, 420 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.

Records reflect that more than one year has passed since the case was registered, however since the same Investigating Officer is investigating another case relating to the same School and the Headmaster concerned being English Bazar PS Case No. 1144/2024.

Be that as it may, since more than one year has passed and the nature of the investigation do not seem to meet the passage of time, I am of the view that a Superior Officer of the Police must monitor the investigation so that the investigation can be taken to its logical conclusion within a reasonable period.

Accordingly the Additional SP/SDPO in charge of English Bazar Police Station will monitor the investigation of the case. The Investigating Officer every 15 days will report regarding the progress made during that period to such Superior Officer. Concerned Superior Officer will also check the report under section 173 Cr.P.C. before the same is submitted before the jurisdictional court. With the aforesaid observations WPA 7676 of 2025 is disposed of.

Report so submitted be kept with the record.
