Despite service none appears on behalf of the respondent nos. 8 and 9.

The petitioner is the mother of the respondent no. 8 and the mother-in-law of the respondent no. 9. The petitioner alleges inaction on the part of the Officer-in-Charge, Maheshtala Police Station. It is alleged that the respondent nos. 8 and 9 mentally and physically tortured the petitioner and thereafter drove the petitioner out of the residential house. It is submitted that the respondent no. 8 pressurized the petitioner to gift her a portion of the house. When she refused, the tortures increased. Accordingly complaints were lodged before the police authorities.

It is submitted by the learned advocate for the State that investigation has been initiated on the complaint of the petitioner.

Under such circumstances, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon the police authorities to conclude the investigation which has already been initiated, within three months.

If the petitioner approaches the Officer-inCharge, Maheshtala Police Station on June 18, 2022 at 11 am, the said officer will escort the petitioner back to the house with the help of police personnel including a lady constable.

The petitioner shall reside in the premises along with her son and daughter-in-law.

The police authorities shall ensure strict vigil in order to avoid any untoward incident.

The writ petition is disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.
