Mr. Ambu Bindu Chakraborty, Mr. Madhusudan Roy ...for the Petitioner Mr. S. Roy ...for Visva-Bharati Father of petitioner no. 2 was employed as a Group 18-04-2023 AKG Ct. 238 "D" employee at Visva-Bharati, Shantiniketan Bolpur, Birbhum. Unfortunately, he succumbed to COVID-19 on May 25, 2021. Petitioner no. 2 is married.

Petitioner no. 1, who is the wife of the deceased employee, submitted an application to Visva-Bharati on or around October 21, 2021, requesting compassionate appointment for petitioner no. 2.

The university submits that the said application will be duly considered in accordance with law. Based on the stand of the university, I am of the opinion that this writ petition need not be kept pending. It is directed that the university shall consider the case of compassionate appointment for petitioner no. 2 in accordance with the law within two months from the date of communication of this order.

Accordingly, WPA 7700 of 2023 is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if

applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
