Mr. Samim Ahamed Mr. Arka Maiti ... for the petitioner Mr. Billwadal Bhattacharya Mr. Moyukh Mukherjee ... for the NKDA The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent Nos. 3, 4 & 5 files a report dated 03.09.2020 in so far as the construction at CC Block Street No. 237 in the New Town area which is taken on record.

It is stated in no uncertain terms that the structure which appears to be a temple is on public land and is completely unauthorized.

In such circumstances, this court directs the NKDA under the provisions of NKDA Act of 2007 to take immediate steps to demolish unauthorized construction. It is expected that the steps will be taken to comply with the aforesaid order within a period of 8 weeks from date.

With the above observations, the instant writ petition stands disposed of. Consequently, the connected application also stands disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

All parties shall act on the Web copy of this Order accordingly.
