The petitioner has retired from service on 31st October 2007 from the Gopalpur Ramkumar Kamala Vidyalaya. His provident fund was disbursed on 24th September 2014 and interest was paid only up to 31st April 2008.

The petitioner claims interest for the entire period from 1st May 2008 till 24th September 2014 and has made a representation to the respondent Nos.2, 3, 4 and 5.

In these circumstances, the respondent No.2, Joint Secretary, School Education Department shall consider the petitioner's case for interest on the delayed payment of provident fund in terms of the law within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and a reasoned order may be passed and communicated to the petitioner within a period of seven days thereafter.

With the aforesaid directions, the writ petition shall stand disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
