The petitioners are aggrieved by irregularities in the appointment of pump operators.

It appears from the letter dated 27th December, 2023 issued by the Executive Engineer, South 24 Parganas Mechanical Division, P.H.E. Dte. in reference to an information sought for under the RTI Act that pump operators are recruited by contractors/agencies engaged by the P.H.E. Therefore, P.H.E. does not have any role to play in the recruitment of such pump operators. 3.

The writ petition is, therefore, not maintainable against private contractors/agencies, where the P.H.E. is no role to play.

Hence, the writ petition is dismissed.

There shall be no order as to costs.
