For the State This is an application for expeditious hearing of G.R. Case No. 3259 of 2011 and T.R. No. 585 of 2020 under Sections 498A/294/506 read with Section 66A of Information Technology Act pending before the Learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Baruipur, South 24 Parganas.

Mr. Saumik Ganguly, learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the charge-sheet has been submitted in the year 2013. Since then, there has been no progress in the trial. He submits that the next date of hearing is fixed on 15th January, 2022 for appearance and framing of charges.

In these trying times, the courts are not functioning normally. Therefore, delay in the progress of trial cannot be attributed to the learned Magistrate below. This revisional application is disposed of with a direction upon the learned Magistrate to conclude the trial as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of eighteen months from date.

Learned Judge may prepone the next date of hearing.
