In the writ petition, the petitioner has sought for an order revoking his demobilization and reinstatement of his appointment attached to the Ramnagar Police Station. Admittedly, criminal proceedings are pending against the petitioner in respect of charge sheet no. 200 of under Sections 341/323/325/355/375/506 and 34 of the IPC. The trial has commenced.

Admittedly, the subject matter of the criminal proceedings arose outside the scope of engagement of the petitioner. That by itself, however, will not disentitle the respondents to demobilize the petitioner, in a contractual engagement as a Civic Volunteer.

In the above circumstances, no relief can be granted to the petitioner against his demobilization.

However, the J.M., 1st Court, Contai is directed to expedite and dispose of the trial being G.R.

Case No.

of 2022, mandatorily and positively within a period of 6 months from the date of communication of a copy of this order.

With the aforesaid directions, the writ petition shall stand disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

Let Mr.

Jayanta Samanta, Advocate's engagement be regularized by the office of the legal remembrancer along with Mr. Dip Jyoti Chakraborty, learned counsel, who was directed to represent the respondents by this Court.
