Heard learned counsels for the parties.

The petitioner who is the defacto complainant in G.R. case no. 639 of 2006 pending before the learned Judicial Magistrate, 2nd Court, Contai, Purba Midnapore seeks expeditious disposal of the matter since it is pending since 2006.

It appears that on two earlier occasions this Court directed the learned trial Court to dispose of the matter within a stipulated time frame vide orders passed on 18th May, 2010 in CRR 2067 of 2009 and 17th January, 2023 in CRR 2874 of 2022.

It is most unfortunate despite such orders the case is still pending. This Court is apprised that the matter is fixed on 17th December, 2024 for consideration of charge.

In view of the long pendency of the case, learned trial Court is directed to conduct a day to day trial of the case and take the case to its logical conclusion within six months from the next date of hearing fixed before him peremptorily.

In the event the case is not disposed of within the stipulated time frame, the petitioner shall be at liberty to approach this Court afresh in order to bring the matter to the notice of the Court. CRR 1225 of 2024 is disposed of.
