1. None appears for the State at the time of call.

2. The grievance of the petitioner is that the petitioner was issued a certificate to the effect that the petitioner belongs to the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) on July 27, 2022. On the strength of the same, the petitioner has got a provisional offer of appointment, which is annexed at page 37 of the writ petition.

3. However, the said certificate is not being renewed, prompting the present writ petition.

4. There does not appear anything on record to indicate the refusal by the respondents or any response to the petitioner's plea of renewal.

5. Accordingly, WPA No. 8389 of 2024 is disposed of by directing the respondent authorities to treat the present writ petition as the petitioner's representation for renewal of his certificate of EWS, which is annexed at page 14 of the writ petition. A decision shall be taken thereon within a fortnight from the

date of communication of this order and the outcome of the same shall be intimated to the petitioner.

6. In the event there is no impediment in law otherwise to so renew, the respondent authorities shall issue a renewal of the said certificate within the said fortnight from the date of communication.

7. There will be no order as to costs.

8. Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities. (Sabyasachi Bhattacharyya, J.)
