And In Re : Sadhan Modak ..... petitioner Mr. Sumanta Das ... for the petitioner Ms. Anasuya Sinha Mr. Pinak Kumar Mitra ... for the State Heard the learned Counsels for the parties.

We have considered the materials on record. Statements of witnesses show petitioner participated in the assault. Bail prayer of the co-accused was allowed on the ground they are women folk of the family. Petitioner, being a male, cannot claim parity with them. Keeping in mind the aforesaid incriminating materials and gravity of the offence, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.

The application for bail is, thus, rejected.
