Petitioners are senior citizens who alleged that they are being physically and mentally tortured by the private respondent nos. 6 & 7. It has been contended that the private respondent no. 6 happens to be the son of the first wife of the petitioner. There are accusations of physical and mental torture being inflicted upon both the petitioners at the behest of the private respondents. Since the nature of the information furnished to the Officer-in-charge, Dumdum Police Station has its genesis in a family feud and dispute, it would be in the further interest of justice that the petitioners approach the appropriate authorities under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and

Senior Citizens Act, 2007 within a period of 4 weeks from date.

In the meantime, I direct the Inspector-incharge of Dumdum Police Station would on every alternate day send a lady police personnel who would assess whether the petitioners' life and liberty has been interfered with. In case the situation is blown out of proportion, the concerned police personnel will inform to the Inspector-in-charge who would take appropriate steps.

With the aforesaid observations WPA 7767 of 2025 is disposed of.
