Satyam Towers Welfare Association & ANR v. State Of West Bengal & ORS
Sl.No.
14.06.2024 WPA 5157 of 2016 Court No. 35 G.S.Das Pavan Bala and others -VsState of West Bengal & Ors.
None appears either for the petitioner or for the private opposite party as well as the added opposite party.
The writ petition lastly appeared on November 22, 2019. The writ petition was preferred for alleged failure on the part of the police authorities to discharge their statutory duties by not taking any step against the private respondent and their men and agents on the basis of a complaint lodged by the Secretary of Satyam Towers Welfare Association.
I find from Annexure P-7 that a representation was made by the Secretary
to the Commissioner of Police, Calcutta.
There were certain disputes as is reflected in the representation dated 29th February, relating to staff with Union representatives who threatened to close the Gates and stop utilities if the tenure of the contractor is not renewed.
Having considered that more than eight years have passed since such a representation was made, I am of the view that the representation which was made on 29th of February, 2016 do not have any force presently.
If, subsequent circumstances so arise, which threatens the breach of peace or tranquility of the locale to the petitioners, the petitioners would be at liberty to approach the appropriate authorities.
With the aforesaid observations,
WPA 5157 of 2016 is disposed of.
Pending application, if any, is also disposed of.
