Petitioner is in custody for more than four years. Accordingly, he prays for bail.

Learned Advocate for the State opposes the bail prayer. He submits trial is at its fag end.

We have considered the materials on record. Victim (PW 7) has supported the prosecution case of penetrative sexual assault. Offence, if proved, would attract 20 years rigorous imprisonment.

Under such circumstances, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.
