The petitioner is aggrieved that his application for transfer has been rejected on the ground that he is the only teacher (single teacher) for the subject being taught in the School.

It is now well settled that in terms of the Notification dated 3rd January, 2022, even a single teacher in a subject is entitled to apply for transfer and the same is liable to be considered by the concerned District Inspector of Schools (SE) in consultation with the CSE in accordance therewith within a period of six weeks from the date of communication of a copy of this order.

The petitioner shall therefore be entitled to make an application afresh through the Utsashree Portal. The head of the School shall forward the said

application to the concerned District Inspector of Schools, for further action strictly in terms of the Circular dated 3rd January, 2022.

With the aforesaid directions, the instant writ petition shall stand disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.
