The petitioner is the owner of the land in question. He stays at some other place. Taking advantage of the same, some unknown miscreants are trying to grab the property. This was brought to the notice of the police authorities, but no steps were taken.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State submits as follows. The petitioner filed an application under Section 144 of the Code. The State filed a report in the same. The police are keeping a watch on the developments in the locality. It is quite surprising that there are no private respondents mentioned in the cause title. The petitioner has, thus, not taken care to find out who the miscreants are who are purportedly trying to dispossess him.

Be that as it may, the writ petition is dispose of by directing the police authorities to keep a sharp vigil at the

locale and to ensure that no breach of peace takes place. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order be supplied to the parties, if applied for, as early as possible. (Jay Sengupta, J.)
