1. Petitioner is in custody for seven years. He prays for bail.

2. Learned lawyer for the State submits petitioner had absconded earlier. His bail prayer was rejected lastly in June 2023. 24 witnesses have already been examined.

3. We have considered the materials on record. Allegations against the petitioner are serious. He had absconded earlier. His bail prayer was rejected on a number of times. In June 2023 while rejecting his bail prayer, trial court was directed to conclude the trial preferably within one year. The time frame has not expired as yet. Trial has considerably progressed.

4. Under such circumstances we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
