This is an application for bail in connection with Neturia P.S. Case No. 51 of 2008 under Sections 364A/365/379/120B of the Indian Penal Code at the behest of the petitioner.

It is submitted by the learned Advocate for the petitioner that the petitioner is languishing in jail for nearly 9 years in connection with the case although the statement of the victim does not reveal the name of the petitioner. It is further submitted that unnecessarily he has been languishing in jail for no reason and rhyme and there is no progress shown in the case.

Learned Advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail. It is submitted that the petitioner is involved in many other cases of similar nature and was apprehended on the alleged kidnapping for ransom and, in fact, the trial has seen substantial progress.

After hearing the respective Counsels and on perusal of the materials available in the case diary as well as the memo

of evidence evincing the progress of trial, we do not think it is a fit case where the petitioner should be released on bail. Accordingly, the application for bail being CRM 4846 of 2020 is rejected.

However, we request the learned Sessions Judge to expedite the trial and bring the case to its logical end at an earliest.
