The petitioner was an approved Assistant Teacher in the subject Social Science at Anandanagar Srinath Vidyapith (H.S.), District: Paschim Medinipur and on superannuation has retired from his said service on June 30, 2018. The petitioner is complaining delay in disbursement of his retiral benefits.

Mr. Maity, learned advocate for the petitioner submits that during the pendency of the writ petition, the necessary pension payment order has been issued and in consequence thereof, the retiral benefits of the petitioner have been released, he, however, prays for interest on the arrear pension.

Mr. Basu Mallick, learned Additional Government Pleader, submits that the authorities alone cannot be blamed for the said delay, the petitioner also has a contribution in it.

Be that as it may, liberty is granted to the petitioner to apply before the concerned authority for consideration of his prayer for such interest, if made, the concerned authority, notwithstanding the disposal of the instant writ petition, shall consider the same in accordance with law.

WPA 7887 of 2023 is disposed of with the above terms without any order as to costs. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties subject to compliance of all requisite formalities.
