Parties are represented by their learned lawyers, names of whom are shown above at the beginning of this ordersheet. This revisional application for quashing is for settlement reached between the parties. The case was registered at the instance of de facto complainant under Sections 498A/406/34 of the Indian Penal Code read with Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1982. After investigation, police submitted charge sheet and the case is pending before Learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Barasat, North 24 Parganas.

A separate C.R.A.N. application signed by the parties is also taken up to reveal the settlement reached between the parties. There is sufficient reference in the relevant paragraphs of the

C.R.A.N. application about mutual settlement reached between the parties outside the Court.

Mr. Rana Mukherjee, learned advocate representing the State after being served with a copy of the revisional application submits that the offence is not compoundable in nature and as such the case may be rejected.

The instant case is the product of matrimonial discord, which has subsequently been settled outside the Court between the parties. When the dispute has been settled upon restoring peace between them, the Court should not stand in the way. The G.R. Case No.1721 of 2019 under Sections 498A/406/34 of the Indian Penal Code read with Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1982, now pending before the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Barasat, North 24 Parganas stands compounded, as prayed for.

The application being C.R.A.N.1 of 2021 stands disposed of. The CRAN application having already been disposed of, there lies nothing further to be adjudicated in this revisional application, and the same is accordingly disposed of.
