REJECTED C.R.M.(A) 1067 of 2024 In Re:- An application for anticipatory bail under Section 438 of the Code of Criminal Procedure in connection with Onda Police Station Case No. 36 of 2024 dated 08.02.2024 under Sections 406/420 of the Indian Penal Code.

And In Re : Sanjib Chowdhury ...... petitioner Ms. Moumita Karmakar Ms. Ankana Roy ...for the petitioner Mr. Shekhar Barman .... For the State By an order dated April 23, 2024 we placed on record the offer of the petitioner to secure the sum of Rs.2,62,000/- with the learned Registrar General of the High Court to establish the bona fides of the petitioner.

Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that, the petitioner is unable to deposit the sum as recorded on April 23, 2024.

Materials in the case diary implicate the petitioner in the offence alleged. Enlarging the petitioner on anticipatory bail will be inimical to such investigation.

Consequently, we are unable to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner and the prayer for anticipatory bail is rejected. Signed By :
