The petitioner, the mother of the minor child has applied before the Kolkata Municipal Corporation for change of the name of her son.

On perusal of the averments made in the writ petition the learned advocate representing the KMC submits that as the prayer of the petitioner was taken up for consideration, order will be communicated to the petitioner shortly.

Learned advocate representing the petitioner admits that the petitioner attended the hearing but the copy of the order, if any, is yet to be served. As it appears that the issue has already been considered by the respondent Corporation, accordingly, no useful purpose will be served by keeping the writ petition pending.

The Chief Health Officer is directed to communicate the fate of her application to the petitioner at the earliest.

If a further hearing is required, the same shall be intimated to the petitioner.

Reasoned order shall be passed and communicated to the petitioner at the earliest but

positively within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order.

Learned advocate for the petitioner is directed to forward copy of all supporting documents to the aforesaid respondent at the time of communicating the order of the Court.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
