Ms. Baisali Basu Ms. Chandrayi Dutta .....for the State Learned senior counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner had a love affair with the victim. However, the allegation is that he assaulted the victim badly and thereafter tried to commit suicide. In fact, the victim suffered severe injuries and had to be hospitalized for treatment for more than time for which the victim was hospitalized. Reference is made to the medical papers pertaining to the injuries suffered by the accused himself.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State relies on the case diary, opposes the prayer for anticipatory bail and submits as follows. The accused tried to slit the victim's throat. The wind pipe of the victim was severely damaged. She had to be treated in a hospital for some time. There were injuries inflicted on other parts of the body as well. There are eye witnesses to the incident.

In view of the injury report of the victim girl and the statements of eye witnesses including that of the victim girl and the other materials available in the case dairy, I am not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the present petitioner.

Accordingly, the application for anticipatory bail is rejected. (Jay Sengupta, J.)
