Submission of learned counsel for petitioner is that illegal cutting of trees is going on in a large scale throughout West Bengal specifically within the districts which have been mentioned in paragraph 3 of the petition and therefore this issue needs to be looked into by the competent authority.

Learned counsel for the State submits that if the petitioner files an appropriate representation before the Director of the Forest Department i.e. respondent No.6 then the grievance of petitioner will be duly looked into. Learned counsel for petitioner has no objection to the same.

Hence, we dispose of the present petition granting liberty to the petitioner to file a detailed comprehensive

WPA(P) 182 of 2022 representation along with all the relevant material before the Director of the Forest Department and on receipt of the said representation the Director will look into the grievance of the petitioner and will conduct an inquiry and take appropriate action in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of 3 months from the date of receipt of such representation. The petitioner will duly cooperate in the inquiry conducted by the Director.

Accordingly, the petition is disposed of.

Urgent certified copy of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance of requisite formalities.
