In the matter of : Ganesh Mehra ..... petitioner Mr. Sukanta Chakraborty Mr. Anindya Halder .....For the petitioner This is an application for expeditious hearing of C.R. Case No. 851 of 2016 under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 pending before the learned Magistrate, 4th Court, Purba Bardhaman.

It is submitted by the learned advocate for the petitioner that a warrant of arrest issued by the learned Magistrate in this case against the opposite party, but thereafter no further progress in the trial took place. It is not expected of the learned Magistrate in the Court below to function at a normal pace in the pandemic situation.

Without taking into consideration any other aspect of the matter, the revisional application is disposed of with a direction upon the learned Magistrate, 4th Court, Purba Bardhaman, to dispose of the case as early as possible, preferably, within a period of one year from the resumption of the normal functioning of the Court.

Since the opposite party shall not be prejudiced by this order, this application is disposed of without serving a copy of this application upon him.

The revisional application being CRR 1019 of 2021 is disposed of.
