Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that petitioner is in custody for one year seven months and the evidence which has already been deposed in respect of the prosecution is not very convincing, as such, petitioner may be released on bail. Learned advocate appearing for the State has produced the Case Diary.

I have taken into account the materials appearing in the Case Diary as also the DNA profiling report which has been submitted before the jurisdictional trial Court, on an assessment of the same, I am of the view that this is not a fit case for releasing the petitioner on bail considering the charges for which the petitioner has been facing the trial, which do prescribe punishment for imprisonment for life or death.

With the aforesaid observations, the prayer for bail of the petitioner in CRM (M) 884 of 2026 is dismissed. Learned trial Court is directed to expedite the process of trial considering the period of detention of the present petitioner. All parties shall act in terms of server copy of the order downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
