Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for about 8 months and is innocent. There is no evidence connecting the petitioner to the murder of the victim.

Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer. I have considered the material on record. The petitioner was last seen together with the victim prior to the murder. The mobile phone of the victim as well as the SIM card of the said phone were recovered pursuant to the leading statement of the petitioner.

Considering the material on record connecting the petitioner to the alleged offence, prayer for bail is rejected at this stage.

The application for bail is disposed of.
