The petitioner was a successful candidate in the 12th Regional Level Selection Test, 2011, as such the West Bengal Regional School Service Commission (Western Region) had recommended his appointment as an Assistant Teacher of the subject English in Honours/PG category but the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education, in its appointment letter, has erroneously described the petitioner as a Pass Graduate Teacher, consequently, the pay scale of the petitioner has been affected.

The petitioner is praying correction in his appointment letter.

The error in the appointment letter is apparent; the Board therefore is directed to carry out necessary correction in the said appointment letter o within two weeks from date.

The concerned District Inspector of Schools (SE), within a period of six weeks from the date of production of the rectified appointment letter, shall

revise the pay scale of the petitioner and shall also pay arrear salary to him.

W.P.A. 8692 of 2024 is disposed of with the above terms without any order as to costs.

Since no affidavit has been invited, the allegations made in the writ petition are deemed to have denied by the respondents.
