Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that, despite the deposition of the quoted amount to WBSEDCL on September 12, 2023, the connection has not yet been effected.

On the other hand, learned counsel for WBSEDCL submits that the personnel of WBSEDCL visited the premises to effect the electricity connection;

however, due to obstruction by respondent nos. 4 and 5, they were unable to complete the installation and had to return without providing the connection.

Despite service, respondent nos. 4 and 5 have not entered an appearance.

It appears that the petitioner is the sister of respondent no. 4, while respondent no. 5 is the wife of respondent no.

Both respondents and the petitioners jointly occupy the relevant premises.

Given that the petitioner's settled possession with respect to the premises is not in dispute, I am of the view that the writ petition should be disposed of with a direction to WBSEDCL to effect the electricity connection in the portion of the premises occupied by the petitioner within a period of one month from the date of this order, subject to the petitioner's compliance with any additional formalities, if required.

The Officer-in-Charge of Liluah Police Station is directed to provide necessary assistance to the officials of WBSEDCL to facilitate the connection, the cost of which shall be borne by the petitioner Accordingly, WPA 7969 of 2025 is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the learned advocates for the parties on usual undertakings.
