The charge is under Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code. The petitioner says that the victim, a minor girl, about 16 years old, committed suicide. The only allegation against the petitioner is that a mobile phone was recovered from the school bag of the victim girl and the SIM card thereof has been found to be registered in the name of the petitioner.

Learned Advocate for the State draws our attention to several statements of witnesses recorded under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. The State says that the petitioner is in the habit of developing relationships with minor girls and then, after exploiting them for sometime, discarding them. The statements of witnesses in the Case Diary prima facie support such stand of the State.

Charge-sheet has not yet been submitted. In view of the nature of the allegations against the petitioner and the possible

extent of his complicity in the alleged offence and since investigation is in progress, we are not inclined to entertain the petitioner's prayer for anticipatory bail.

Accordingly, the application for anticipatory bail being C.R.M. 3135 of 2021 is dismissed.
