The petitioner is aggrieved by an email communication dated 11th March, 2024 refusing to accept reciprocal registration of her nursing qualification obtained from the Karnataka State Nursing Council in December 2021. The course period is for three years. She was registered by the Karnataka State Nursing Council on 21st June, 2022.

It appears from the rules of the Indian Nursing Council that a candidate should be 17 years as on 31st December of the year of enrolment in the course. The petitioner was enrolled in the year 2018 before she reached 17 years. However, as on 31st December, 2018 she crossed 17 years of age as her date of birth is 22nd October, 2001.

Counsel for the State Mr. Mallick relies upon a letter of the petitioner dated 9th June, 2023, where she had stated that she was 16 years 10 months and 10 days in the year 2017.

This Court notices that the same is not relevant in view of the guidelines of the Indian Nursing Council. 5.

In that view of the matter, this Court directs the respondent No.6, to accept the reciprocal registration of the petitioner from the Karnataka State Nursing Council with the West Bengal State Nursing Council forthwith. 6.

Let a communication be issued to the petitioner of such acceptance within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With the aforesaid directions, the writ petition is disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.
