The present revisional application was preferred challenging the chargesheet submitted in connection with Baranagar P. S. Case No. 22 of 2020 dated 14-01-2020 under Sections 448/323/384/511/504/506/34 of the Indian Penal Code. Earlier, there was a direction for recording the statement of the complainant being opposite party no.2. A report has been submitted by Ranabir Roy Chowdhury, learned advocate appearing on behalf of the State. Learned advocate for the complainant/opposite party no.2 is also present. There is a joint compromise application being CRAN 1 of 2023. Having regard to the nature of the allegations and the purpose for which the present case is instituted, I find that the same arose out of matrimonial discord. The complainant in this case is the husband.

The report reflects that there is a difference of opinion between the couple and both have decided to lead their life independently. Let the report submitted by the Officer-in-Charge, Baranagar Police Station be kept with the record.

Having considered the nature of the proceedings wherein no public policy is involved, I am of the view that the compromise preferred at the instance of both the parties should be given effect to. Accordingly, all further proceedings arising out of Barnagar P. S. Case No. 22 of 2020 dated 14-01-2020 wherein chargesheet was submitted under Sections 448/323/384/511/504/506/34 pending before the learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Barrackpore, North 24 Parganas is, hereby, quashed.

Consequently, the present revisional application being CRR 1211 of 2023 and connected application being CRAN 1 of 2023 is allowed. Pending any other applications are disposed of.
