Report submitted by the State reflects that the special public prosecutor is appearing in connection with Dum Dum Police Station Case No.1187 of 2017 for which report under Section 173 Cr.P.C. was filed before the learned special court. The case was initiated under the relevant provisions of POCSO Act and SC & ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.

Petitioner is/was aggrieved by the report so submitted by the police authorities.

Last of the order-sheet reflects that on 4th January, 2024 no steps were taken by the learned special public prosecutor and date for further hearing was fixed for the naraji petition which has been filed.

Directorate of prosecution would ensure regarding the

appearance of the special public prosecutor on 14.05.2024, the next date so fixed for hearing and the case diary be produced by the Inspector-in-Charge of Dum Dum Police Station. Learned trial court is directed that the further hearing of the naraji petition be completed within a period of 60 days from the next date so fixed. Learned trial court would fix as many dates as he deems fit and proper but the same will not be stretched beyond the period fixed by this Court.

With the aforesaid observations, CRR 1285 of 2024 is disposed of.

Pending connected application, if any, is consequently disposed of.

Report so submitted by the State be kept with the record. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
