Soumen Das @ Choton has been enlarged on bail. Learned Advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail and submits bail prayer of another co-accused viz. Noorbox Sk. @ Bhola Sk. @ Nurbaks Sekh has been rejected by a coordinate Bench of this court.

We have considered the materials on record. Petitioner played active role in abduction of the victim and demanding ransom. He does not stand on the same footing with Soumen Das @ Choton who had intimated the victim's wife with regard to the abduction. On the other hand, he stands on the same footing with other co-accused viz. Noorbox Sk. @ Bhola Sk. @ Nurbaks Sekh whose bail prayer had been turned down. Keeping in mind the role played by the petitioner in the alleged crime and gravity of the offence, we are not inclined to grant bail to him at this stage.

The application for bail is thus rejected.
