Mr. Ansar Mandal, Ms. Somashree Dey In pursuant to the direction of this Court dated 24th of June, 2025 a joint inspection was held by the authorities of State of West Bengal as well as the authorities of State of Orissa.

In pursuant to such joint inspection, a report is prepared by the alleged contemnors and it is placed on record.

Perused the report affirmed by one Sri Suman Sourav Mohanty. Paragraph 11 of the said report reads as follows:

"11. Upon a meticulous cross-referencing of the current GPS-derived demarcation data with the established distinguish border-line of State of Odisha and West Bengal, the following outcomes were divulged:  The subject land, as specified in the Notice of Tender, is sand block MDTNB-22 being its geographical location 21.93675N-

87.244434E to 21.932193N-87.243129N to 21.935343N-87.244357E to 21.935944N87.243646E. In relation to its longitudinal and latitudinal extent as mentioned, the area of the sand block is 6.63 acres.

 Comparing the current demarcation with the previously established inter-state boundary it is revealed that the boundary line between two states runs with a number of symbolic points of demarcation with its GIS position being 21.934829N87.244142E to 21.935101N-87.243896E to 21.935225N-87.243805E to 21.935468N87.243646E. This boundary line between two states run across the sand block MDTNB-22 resting the northern side as the part of State of West Bengal whereas the Southern portion lies within the State of Odisha. It was determined that only 3.55 acres of the sand block's total area fall within the territorial jurisdiction of the State of West Bengal".

In support of paragraph 11, some annexures were also placed on record including the report of Block Land and Land Reforms Officer, Dantan-1, Paschim Medinipur as Annexure P-5 which annexed a hand sketch.

Considering the entire effort of the alleged contemnors; it appears that the alleged contemnors have correctly complied with the interim order dated 23rd of August, 2018 passed by a Coordinate Bench of this Court.

Upon taking note of the report placed by the alleged contemnors.

The instant CPAN being No. CPAN 583 of 2025 be disposed of.

Rule, if issued, is hereby recalled.

The petitioner is at leave to use the report placed by the alleged contemnors in this CPAN during the hearing of the writ petition.
