The petitioner claims to be unmarried daughter of late Tarini Charan Samanta who retired on 31st December, 1979 and died on 4th August, 1982. Until 14th January, 2023 the mother of the petitioner was receiving family pension as a PPO dated 14th June, 2005. The petitioner claims family pension as an unmarried daughter. She has made a representation on 2nd January, 2024.

In those circumstances, the DI of Schools, Paschim Medinipur shall make necessary enquries and ascertain the status of the petitioner and send an appropriate report to the DPPG, West Bengal within a period of one month from the date of communication of the order. If the DPPF, West Bengal is set aside the report, let PPO be issued to the petitioner within one month thereafter.

Let arrears of pension also be paid to the petitioner if she is found entitled to pension in accordance with law. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.
