Bazar Police Station Case No. 378 of 2022 dated 15.12.2022 under Sections 498A/307 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 and Sections 3/ 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.

There are materials in the case diary, which suggest that, the petitioner was involved in the torture of the de-facto complainant. The petitioner was, apparently, instrumental in demanding dowry also.

Apparently, there was an effort to mediate with regard to such disputes at the local level. Such mediation efforts failed. The police complaint was lodged within seven years of marriage.

In such circumstances, considering the materials in the case diary and the involvement of the petitioner in the incident, we are unable to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

Accordingly, prayer for anticipatory bail of the petitioner is rejected and the application being CRM (A) 1437 of 2023 is dismissed.
