10.05.2022 sayandeep Sl. No. 16 Ct. No. 05 WPA 7724 of 2022 Smt. Anwesha Pal -Versus- University of Calcutta & Ors.

Mr. Parth Sarathi Bhattacharyya Mr. Raju Bhattacharyya Mr. Arunava Maiti .... for the petitioner Mr. Aninda Bose Mr. Diptendu Mondal ..... for the College Mr. Nilotpal Chatterjee Mr. Satyaki Banerjee .... for the Calcutta University The confusion in the present matter arises out of two identical names- both Anwesha Pals and the petitioner before this Court being awarded lesser marks than the other Anwesha Pal who is not before this Court.

The error is admitted an obvious error as would be evident from a letter written by the concerned College to the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic Affairs) of the University of Calcutta on 31.03.2022. The other letter written by the concerned professor of the Department of Mathematics to the University on the same issue is of 21.03.2022.

By these letters, the College admitted that there was a mistake in uploading the marks of the petitioner before this Court.

Since it is an admitted mistake, the Controller of Examinations, University of Calcutta, being the respondent no. 3 herein, is directed to correct the marks of the petitioner before this Court and upload the same on the University's website within a period of two weeks from date. The University shall also be at liberty of correcting the marks of the other Anwesha Pal within such time as it deem fit and proper.

The petitioner should be issued a fresh markssheet by the University on the basis of the corrected marks within the period of two weeks from the date on which such correction is done. The petitioner shall give a copy of the Google sheet to the University during the course of the day.

WPA 7724 of 2022 is disposed of in terms of the above.
